Each year, numerous organizations and individuals help make NHMTA’s tournament a success. Some provide scholarships or prizes for individual student awards, while others provide volunteers to score and judge competition rounds. Still others speak during NHMTA’s welcome and award ceremonies or serve as court reporters during rounds of competition.

Major Sponsors and Partners
Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy offers both a Juris Doctor and a paralegal program with the purpose of preparing students to serve in the fields of law and government policy. A major sponsor of NHMTA, the college provides scholarships to students winning awards as pretrial or trial attorneys. Faculty, graduates and students have also served as NHMTA scorers and judges.
Patrick Henry College (PHC) is a classical liberal arts college in Purcellville, VA. A major sponsor of NHMTA, PHC provides scholarships to students winning awards as pretrial or trial attorneys. Former and current members of PHC’s moot court and mock trial teams have served as NHMTA scorers and judges. Coach Dr. Frank Guliuzza served as the honorary chair of NHMTA’s Inaugural Tournament in 2013.
Chapman University is located in Orange, CA, and offers a variety of graduate and undergraduate programs. NHMTA’s Third Annual Tournament will be hosted at the Fowler School of Law, which was established in 1995 and ranked 127th on the U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 ranking of the best law schools that are fully accredited by the American Bar Association.

The Christian Home Educators Association of California (CHEA) is a nonprofit organization whose goals include providing information, support, and training to the home education community. NHMTA hosted its first two tournaments at CHEA’s annual convention in Southern California. Members of CHEA’s Board of Directors have also served as NHMTA scorers and judges.
Trinity Law School is located in Santa Ana, CA, offering both a three-year full-time and a four-year part-time Juris Doctor program. A major sponsor of NHMTA, Trinity Law School provides prizes to students winning awards as pretrial attorneys. Faculty, graduates, and students from the school have also served as NHMTA scorers and judges.
Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) is a nonprofit advocacy organization in Purcellville, VA. It was established with the goal of protecting the right of parents to direct their children’s education and to protect family freedoms. HSLDA attorneys such as HSLDA president J. Michael Smith have served as NHMTA scorers and judges.
South Coast College is located in Orange, CA, and offers programs that include court reporting and paralegal training. Court reporting students from the college volunteered to be court reporters during rounds at NHMTA’s Second Annual Tournament in 2014.
Hugh Hewitt is a lawyer, law professor, and broadcast journalist who hosts a nationally syndicated radio show. Hewitt was the featured speaker at the welcome session of NHMTA’s Inaugural Tournament in 2013.
Michael Medved is a nationally syndicated political radio talk show host and bestselling author. Medved provided prizes for students competing in the journalist competition at NHMTA’s Inaugural Tournament in 2013.
Members of the mock trial team from University of California, Irvine, have served as NHMTA scorers and judges.
Christine Roe of Captured! Photography was the official photographer at NHMTA’s Inaugural Tournament in 2013. Her photos of the tournament were featured in “Making a Case for Mock Trial,” which appeared in the Aug-Sept 2013 issue of the California Parent Educator magazine. Roe’s photography also illustrates NHMTA’s website.
Verity Institute is a higher education program that offers 21-month on-campus, Distance Learning, and Dual Enrollment Bachelor Degree programs. Verity Institute has been a past NHMTA sponsor.
College Plus is a higher education program that offers bachelor degrees and dual credit for students. As a past NHMTA sponsor, College Plus has awarded scholarships to students winning awards as witnesses.
College Prep Genius offers classes and products to help high school students prepare for the College Board SAT and PSAT. As a past NHMTA sponsor, College Prep Genius has provided gift certificates to students winning individual awards.
